We watched two trains collide and fried our dinner in the fire.
Come to find, your eyes, they didn't shine so bright that night.
Later on, as we screamed together under cover white,
Those eyes did shine.
We saw the young ones dance, but kept our stance and laughed at how they're faces glow.
The sweat was soaking tight hand-me-down clothes.
Later on, as we danced together all through the night,
You laughed at mine.
I swore I'd always keep a lover with a strong set of western ideals
And an eastern sense of style
But after a while, and a fading funeral pyre,
You stared and smiled, you stared and smiled.
Then we wondered if we'd be fine,
They killed the light, the eagle died, and reindeer fly,
But the growing comfort kept it from our eyes.
Later on, as we ran together under cover night, you stopped and cried.
Then we saw the battle ax the wielding had, glad that he would finally have.
Oh, you should have seen those pitch black eyes!
Later on, we did band together, plotted his demise,
Sling shot to the eyes!
I always swore I'd be a lawyer or an astronaut or some sort of famous scientist.
But when a tryst is more important than a trust,
I must admit I'm far too old to make excuses for bad luck.
